Authorities warned that scammers are using social media and WhatsApp to solicit urgent donations via suspicious bank accounts by exploiting the solidarity of those supporting pilgrims. The public is advised to verify organizers, noting that legitimate assistance is being coordinated by the Commission of the Pilgrims of the Puna, which accepts food, water, and medical supplies in Salta Capital.
