Overview

In early July 2026, Polish authorities opened several investigations under hate-speech and extremist-incitement statutes. Later in July, a 20-year-old Ukrainian woman and her partner were violently assaulted on a Wrocław street, an attack recorded and circulated online. In August, police arrested Adam C., a former gangster and boxer, and Tomasz N. in connection with the Wrocław attack. Prosecutors have classified the act as hooliganism, and authorities are still searching for a third suspect, Jarosław R. On August 2, a 34-year-old man from Lublin was charged with violence and threats based on discriminatory motives following an assault on three Ukrainian citizens in Radom.
