EPM noted that recent rainfall has not been sufficient to recover sources, and household water savings of 75 liters have fallen short of the 92-liter target.

In Ipiales, a separate water crisis is emerging due to aging infrastructure, including intake modules from 1942, and water loss rates exceeding 50%. Additionally, CORPONARIÑO has raised concerns regarding wastewater discharges into the Blanco River.

In Bogotá, Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán maintains a stance of preventive readiness. Nationally, Agriculture Minister Indalecio Dangond has proposed declaring a national emergency to protect food security. Recent developments in Bogotá include scheduled temporary service interruptions in the Suba district by the Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado (EAAB) for maintenance and network renewal.
