To address these pressures, the government has implemented several regulatory and transparency measures. On October 10, 2026, the Transparency Board established new fuel price ceilings to manage the hydrocarbon market. Retail diesel is capped at 211 lekë per liter with a wholesale limit of 199 lekë, while gasoline retail is capped at 195 lekë per liter with a wholesale limit of 183 lekë. Operators violating these limits face penalties, including potential business suspension.

Additionally, Prime Minister Edi Rama introduced the ‘Pasqyra e Çmimeve’ (Price Mirror) platform and the ‘KURSE’ initiative. The ‘Pasqyra e Çmimeve’ platform tracks 238 products across 13 categories to allow for price comparisons. The ‘KURSE’ initiative, a result of cooperation between the government, suppliers, and supermarket chains, offers 325 discounted items with average reductions of 13.3%, some reaching up to 40%. These price agreements are scheduled to remain in effect until January 12, 2027.
