The archipelago continues to manage simultaneous alerts for calima and wind conditions. Recent reports confirm that temperatures have reached 40 degrees Celsius in Maspalomas and nearly 40 degrees in Lanzarote. While the calima is expected to persist through Thursday, a gradual moderation of temperatures was forecasted to begin mid-week. By September 9, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) announced a shift in weather conditions, providing a reprieve from the recent heat in Tenerife. After several days above 30°C, temperatures are expected to decrease, particularly in mid-altitude and mountain areas, where maximums may reach around 29°C. The region is also transitioning to a period of strong winds, with moderate northeast winds and the possibility of very strong gusts in the southeast and central mountain ridges. Some areas may also experience light drizzle.
