Fernando Cerimedo ties to Argentine government

Overview

The Argentine government has addressed the relationship between President Javier Milei and political consultant Fernando Cerimedo. Presidential spokesperson Javier Ravier stated that while contact ceased in 2023, it continued into early 2024. Records from the Casa Rosada show Cerimedo visited the government building at least 12 times during 2024, with some visits directed toward the General Secretariat of the Presidency. Cerimedo remains in preventive detention at Palmasola prison in Bolivia, facing charges of attempted femicide against his former partner, Nadia Beller. He is also under investigation there for alleged illicit enrichment, an inquiry that reportedly involves the wife of the Bolivian President, María Elena Urquidi. During judicial statements, Cerimedo claimed he earns approximately one million dollars per month from digital marketing and communication companies, such as Numen Group Inc. and Numen de Publicidad. He has asserted that these funds are legitimate and that he has no corporate entities operating within Bolivia. In Argentina, Cerimedo faces at least three commercial lawsuits involving unpaid debts. These include a US$ 500,000 claim by Flucuad Net Mergitur Argentina S.A. related to Academia Numen, as well as disputes involving promissory notes totaling US$ 80,000 and 70 million pesos. Argentine courts have ordered the inhibition of his assets regarding these financial obligations. His defense maintains that his wealth is tied to international business ventures and is preparing documentation to substantiate his financial standing. Investigations have also linked Cerimedo to Sanabria SRL, a company operating on the Hidrovía waterway. While the firm claims to provide port services and fuel to barges on the Paraná River, investigators suggest it may be a “ghost firm” due to a lack of significant infrastructure at its site in Puerto General San Martín.
