European firms continue share buybacks
Entities: Sirma Group JSC · Deutsche Post AG · Siemens Healthineers AG · SAP SE · Walldorf, Germany
Overview
Share‑repurchase programmes remained active across Europe throughout July 2026. In addition to the large‑scale buy‑backs already reported, a range of other companies disclosed activity in the last week of the month.
Sirma Group JSC repurchased 6,778 shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange for €5,179, marking a modest buy‑back at €0.7641 per share. Siemens Healthineers AG bought 78,345 shares between 20 July and 26 July, part of a broader programme that has already repurchased over 2.6 million shares at roughly €34‑35 each on Xetra.
adidas AG completed its second tranche, acquiring 1,380,101 shares across Xetra, Turquoise and Cboe at average prices of €170‑180 per share. Deutsche Post AG reported no purchases between 20 July and 24 July, indicating a temporary pause in its ongoing programme that has, since April 2026, bought more than 5.1 million shares.
SAP SE’s second tranche, authorised on 27 July, remains the headline event, with up to €2.6 billion earmarked for repurchases through January 2027. JP Morgan retained a neutral rating on SAP, citing a solid cloud‑contract backlog while noting uncertainty around AI‑related revenue.
These disclosures reinforce the sustained use of buy‑backs by European energy, biotech, industrial, aerospace, technology and consumer‑goods firms to optimise capital structures, reward shareholders and support employee equity plans.
