Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition release
Overview
On October 1, 2026, Sucker Punch Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment released the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition for PlayStation 5. This package integrates the base game with the ‘Echoes of Sekigahara’ narrative expansion and the ‘Most Wanted’ (Kenkaku Gitan) roguelike-inspired survival mode, alongside the Legends cooperative experience. The ‘Echoes of Sekigahara’ expansion introduces the Ashoro Foothills in Ezo, a region controlled by a faction known as the Vipers. The narrative utilizes flashbacks to the historical Battle of Sekigahara to expand the history of the protagonist, Atsu, and her connection to the character Nagato. This content includes new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and Mythic Tales. The ‘Most Wanted’ mode allows players to select from four characters—Atsu, Oyuki, Nagato, and the returning Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima—to navigate randomized stages. In this mode, Jin Sakai can be unlocked by accumulating and spending 28,800 Coins, after which he utilizes five distinct combat stances: Stone, Water, Wind, Moon, and the Ghost Stance. The mode features increasing difficulty through waves of enemies and minibosses. The Complete Edition also incorporates content previously exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition, such as the Charm of Hokkyokusei and various cosmetic rewards. To support the release, Sony introduced Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), an AI-driven upscaling technology. Following the rollout, a free update was provided which includes armor customization, high contrast settings, and a ‘Beauty of Yotei’ mode for enhanced photo exploration. Players who already own the base game can upgrade to the Complete Edition for $15. By October 12, 2026, experimental PlayStation 5 emulators demonstrated the ability to load in-game footage of Ghost of Yotei on PC, though the game remains unplayable.
