László Perlusz, Secretary General of the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ), stated that a “single-digit increase” may be more realistic due to weaker economic performance. Conversely, Róbert Zlati, President of the Hungarian Trade Union Confederation, argues that even a 14% increase would fail to ensure the minimum wage reaches 50% of the gross average wage.

Additionally, Hungary has yet to publish national legislation required to implement EU-mandated wage transparency rules, missing the June 2026 deadline. This delay coincides with a decline in job advertisements that include salary information, which have dropped to approximately 22–23%.
