Cambridge said the probe was launched after receiving “new information” and would re‑examine his thesis, while Liverpool John Moores described the overlaps as “honest and reasonable error”. The resignation has not halted the internal Cambridge probe, the parallel Jesus College inquiry, or Liverpool John Moores’ review. Disputed claims that Arday raised several million pounds for charity and completed extreme endurance feats have also been questioned. His memoir “Great and Unfortunate Things” remains slated for U.S. release by 37 Ink, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
