Aardman's Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom release
Overview
Aardman Animation and Studiocanal released ‘Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom’, the third feature film in the stop-motion franchise, on September 18, 2026. Directed by Matthew Walker and Steve Cox, the Halloween-themed comedy horror follows Shaun’s attempt to use a growth serum to restore a destroyed pumpkin patch, which inadvertently transforms the Farmer into a Bigfoot-like beast.
Following early screenings, the film achieved a perfect 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. The production, marking Aardman’s 50th anniversary, utilizes traditional claymation and features a voice ensemble including Justin Fletcher, John Sparkes, and Paul Whitehouse.
Global theatrical rollouts continued through late 2026, including screenings in Australia and a wide release in German-speaking markets on October 1 under the title ‘Shaun das Schaf – Spuk im Kürbisfeld’. In Japan, the film—titled ‘Shaun the Sheep: The Monster of the Pumpkin Patch’—was scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, supported by promotional events such as a keyword rally at Minoh Q's Mall and a bakery collaboration with Boulangerie Asanoya.
The franchise’s expansion includes extensive merchandise, such as BULLYLAND figures, NICI plush toys, and special Deutsche Post stamps. For home media, GKIDS is scheduled to distribute the film on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital platforms on January 26, 2027.
