Bajaj Auto expands Pulsar lineup and adventure segment

Overview

In July 2026, Bajaj Auto confirmed its first mass-market electric motorcycle will be produced between April 2027 and March 2028. The company also announced a ten-model rollout, including next-generation Pulsar 125 and 150 bikes and a new 125cc “Glider.” Following the launch of the refreshed Pulsar NS125, Bajaj introduced the Pulsar N160 S (~₹1.33 lakh) and the premium N160 SS (~₹1.43 lakh). On August 17, 2026, the company updated the N160 lineup with a 164.5cc 4-valve (4V) engine producing 18.5 PS and 14 Nm of torque. On August 23–26, 2026, Bajaj officially launched the updated 2026 Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 models in India. The Pulsar 150 features a redesigned aesthetic with LED headlamps and an aggressive fuel tank, transitioning to a monoshock suspension and a new frame. The Pulsar 125, starting at ₹92,900 ex-showroom Delhi, features a diamond-type frame and a nitrogen gas-charged monoshock. The 125cc model includes silent-start technology and an idle start-stop system. High-end variants of both models offer a 5-inch TFT console with navigation and three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Sport. Technical details for the Pulsar 125 reveal the new diamond tubular frame is “20 per cent lighter and 60 per cent stiffer” than the previous double-downtube version. By using the 124.58cc air-cooled engine as a stressed member, the company achieved an overall weight reduction of approximately 8 kg. Managing Director Rakesh Sharma indicated plans to launch three more products by mid-October 2026. Additionally, the company intends to introduce two entirely new brands within the 125cc segment later this fiscal year.
