Bajaj Auto expands lineup, readies new Pulsar launch
Entities: Bajaj Auto · Bajaj Pulsar · MRF · Honda SP125 · TVS Raider
Overview
In July 2026 Bajaj Auto confirmed that its first mass‑market electric motorcycle will be produced between April 2027 and March 2028 and will debut in overseas markets before reaching India. The company also announced a ten‑model rollout over six weeks, featuring next‑generation Pulsar 125 and 150 bikes and a new 125 cc commuter tentatively called “Glider,” priced around ₹1 lakh. To support the expanded range, Bajaj plans to lift annual output by roughly 25 % to over 9 million units through brownfield expansion and a new greenfield plant.
On 31 July the refreshed Pulsar NS125 was unveiled, and a teaser on 3 August hinted at a headline Pulsar 150 marking the model’s 25th anniversary. Dealer sightings confirmed that a new‑generation Pulsar 125 will launch on 12 August with a stressed‑member chassis, monoshock rear suspension, LED lighting, a digital Bluetooth‑enabled console and single‑channel ABS.
Leaked images on 6 August revealed a parallel Pulsar N160 variant, showing a revised front fascia, blue colour scheme, LCD instrument cluster with navigation, and conventional telescopic forks while retaining the existing 164.8 cc engine. All moves align with India’s EV 2.0 policy that aims to halt registration of new gasoline two‑wheelers from April 2028.
