Italian public sector recruitment drive

In early August 2026 the Italian public administration launched a large‑scale hiring campaign. On 1 August it announced nearly 4,000 openings – 3,942 permanent posts and paid‑training slots – across ministries, regional health services, the judiciary, law‑enforcement bodies, the navy and the environment ministry. The Ministry of the Interior will add about 400 new fire‑service operatives, while the Ministry of Justice will run a special selection for roughly 1,500 internal staff to become judicial officers. The Ministry of Economy and Finance detailed a competition for 180 tax magistrates to serve in the Department of Tax Justice, handling fiscal disputes and high‑impact corporate cases. Applications must be submitted through the inPA platform using SPID, CIE or CNS authentication before the specified deadlines. The drive aims to reinforce Italy’s civil service and judicial capacities, including roles for disabled and blind candidates.
