KSU and Meghalaya government reach tentative peace

Furthermore, the government and KSU have agreed to a joint inspection of the Umling Facilitation Centre to prepare it for operation by Christmas.

Legal proceedings continue as the Meghalaya High Court has demanded a status report and case diary concerning the August 19 violence, which included attacks on court officers and damage to High Court vehicles. In a related environmental update, the Chief Minister reported that 72 illegal coke plants have been demolished since 2023 to ensure compliance.
