Entities: Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital · Attila Cseke · Simina Roz · Romanian Ministry of Health · Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy
Overview
The nationwide recruitment drive in Romania, launched in mid‑June 2026, continues to list tens of thousands of vacancies across civilian, industrial and health sectors. The National Agency for Employment (ANOFM) recorded 28,777 vacant posts in the first half of 2026, with the bulk of openings for drivers, couriers, retail staff and unskilled construction labour. Regional offices reported hundreds of local jobs, including 353 posts in Bistrița‑Năsăud and 922 in Mureș, while Olt county assisted more than 1,200 job‑seekers.
In Moldova, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection reported that 14,049 individuals were helped to find work during the early months of 2026, and 106 free qualification courses were organized for 1,726 participants.
The Romanian Ministry of Health has proposed to unblock 7,805.5 medical‑staff positions nationwide – 7,360 for hospitals and 445.5 for County Ambulance Services – covering doctors, medical assistants, auxiliary staff and pharmacists, biologists, biochemists and medical physicists. Arad County Emergency Clinical Hospital, facing a shortfall of 624 vacant posts, has requested approval for 190 new positions, including 28 doctors and 68 medical assistants.
The 2026 admission exam for Romanian medical schools set a record, with over 2,000 candidates competing for 1,947 places at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, most of them state‑funded.
Overall, the employment initiative remains a major effort to reduce unemployment, expand health‑care capacity and support cross‑border labour mobility through the EURES network.
