UGC NET June 2026 re-exam results released

Overview

Following the re-examinations for English, Commerce, and Sociology held on 9 and 10 September 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the final answer keys for these subjects.

These re-exams were necessitated after an expert committee identified “substantive issues” in the original June 2026 question papers, such as factual mistakes, typographical errors, translation inaccuracies, and garbled book titles. The NTA conducted the re-tests to ensure a fair and error-free process, noting that while these three subjects required re-testing, the remaining 84 subjects of the UGC-NET proceeded according to the original schedule.

On 17 September 2026, the NTA released the official results for the re-examinations, which were conducted across 454 centers in 272 cities. Of the 196,491 candidates who participated in the re-examination, 120,355 were declared successful. The successful candidates include 824 qualifying for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), 11,610 qualifying for Assistant Professor positions, and 23,154 qualifying for PhD admissions only.

Candidates can access their scorecards and final answer keys via the official NTA website using their application number and password. As previously noted, no additional fees were charged for the re-examination process.
