Cultural and art exhibitions in South America

Overview

Cultural and photographic exhibitions continue to launch across South America.

In Paraguay, the Centro Cultural de España in Asunción is hosting ‘Ojos que yo encendí’ as part of the PHotoESPAÑA 2026 festival. This transatlantic exhibition features 38 works by 21 photographers from Paraguay and Spain, aiming to create a dialogue on memory and creativity.

Argentina has seen several new developments. In Río Grande, the Museo Fueguino de Arte ‘Niní Bernardello’ has opened a provincial call for artists for ‘Entinta’, a collective exhibition focused on printmaking and printed art; applications are accepted until September 24. At the Centro Cultural Casona Municipal, artist Héctor Romanzini is launching ‘He vivido en la Segunda’, an exhibition of over thirty works exploring the geography and collective memory of the La Segunda neighborhood. Additionally, the Museo Municipal ‘Víctor Abel Giménez’ in Coronel Vidal is hosting a free ‘Escritura y Fotografía’ workshop, where participants use family photographs to recover forgotten stories.

In Chile, the Museo Regional de Iquique is hosting ‘Espíritu Libre’ to honor the late artist Rafael Lara (1969-2024). The exhibition explores Lara’s connection to Chiloé landscapes and includes community activities such as a lecture on printmaking.
