Overview
At the ordinary shareholders’ meeting on 5 July 2026 in Arteixo, Inditex re‑elected six of its ten directors – chair Marta Ortega Pérez, CEO Óscar García Maceiras and independent members Denise Kingsmill, Pilar López Álvarez and Belén Romana – and added former CaixaBank chief José Ignacio Goirigolzarri as an independent director. Ernst & Young was confirmed as auditor for 2026. The 2027‑2029 remuneration policy raises García Maceiras’s fixed salary to €2.95 million and his total potential compensation to €9.175 million, while Ortega’s annual pay is set at €1.05 million; the independent‑coordinator director role carries a €25 000 supplement. The €1.75 per‑share dividend was split into two €0.875 payments, the first paid in May and the second due in November 2026. CEO García Maceiras announced a €2.3 billion investment plan centred on AI‑driven logistics, robotised warehouses, smart search tools and personalised digital assistants, alongside new stores in Brazil and the United States and the expansion of Lefties, Massimo Dutti, Pull&Bear and Zara Home into the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and Norway. Ortega highlighted AI’s transformative potential while stressing the continued value of human judgment, noting that the initiative should create jobs and increase tax contributions in Spain. AI will also be applied to store technology and customer‑facing platforms. Inditex faced a setback in a Madrid provincial court ruling on the Pull&Bear “Sicko19” trademark dispute, with the court rejecting the challenge to the “Siko Studios” registration and ordering the group to cover legal costs. On 20 July 2026, Canadian bank RBC reaffirmed its “Outperform” rating, kept a €63 price target and projected a 9 % year‑on‑year sales increase for the second fiscal quarter. Three days later, Bank of America raised its target price to €65 per share, maintaining a buy recommendation and valuing Inditex’s market capitalisation at over €200 billion.
