AKTOR completes €950m financing, Winex stake falls
Overview
AKTOR Group finalised a €950 million double‑financing package on 27 July 2026, consisting of a €650 million capital increase and a €300 million five‑year bond guaranteed by UBS Europe. The capital increase was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange on 28 July, expanding the share pool to 261,780,241 and diluting Winex Investments’ voting stake to roughly 33.41%.
In June, AKTOR released its 2025 Sustainability Report and unveiled the “AKTOR Decarbonisation Strategy 2030”, targeting a 35 % rise in renewable‑energy generation, a 15 % cut in fossil‑energy use and a circular‑economy framework from 2027. The same month the group announced a €3 billion investment programme for 2026‑2031, to be funded by the capital increase and bond.
The capital increase attracted strong demand, with the book‑building phase oversubscribed 3.6‑3.7 times the target and total offers exceeding €2.2 billion. The €300 million bond was launched on 23 July, earmarked for the same growth plan. On 24 July Winex purchased €31.5 million of additional shares, signalling insider confidence.
In August, AKTOR signed a binding agreement with Motor Oil to acquire a 75 % stake in waste‑management firms ΗΛΕΚΤΩΡ and THALIS, expanding its circular‑economy portfolio. Proceeds from the financing round will support these strategic acquisitions and the broader €3 billion growth agenda.
