This decline follows a sharp revenue drop to just $75,000 in Q2 2026, down from $8.1 million the previous year, largely due to the completion of engineering work for a Romanian project without new contracts to replace it. To fund operations, the company has filed to sell up to $750 million in additional stock, though it maintains a $1.9 billion cash reserve.

While NuScale pursues a potential 6-GW project with the Tennessee Valley Authority and ENTRA1 Energy, other developers like Oklo are utilizing different models. Oklo, which develops and operates its own reactors, has secured a commercial agreement with Meta Platforms for a project in Ohio expected to be operational by 2030.
