As Comptroller General, Castañón González will oversee the auditing of state resources, municipalities, and decentralized entities. The role is considered particularly critical leading up to the 2027 elections, as the CGC is responsible for issuing the certificates of solvency (finiquitos) required for political candidates to register for office.
