A week later, on 26 July, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred near Durán in Ecuador’s Guayas province, with moderate shaking reported in Guayaquil and surrounding cantons but again no injuries or material loss.

Guatemala’s National Disaster Coordination Agency recorded a surge of seismic activity, logging 60 detectable earthquakes in a single day, the strongest measuring magnitude 5.9 off the Pacific coast near Escuintla. Year‑to‑date totals exceed 4,700 events, 125 of them felt, yet no damage or injuries have been reported. Authorities reiterated preparedness advice and warned that an El Niño‑driven pattern is expected to bring below‑normal rainfall during the August‑October season, raising water‑deficit concerns.

On 31 July, Mexico experienced an active seismic swarm along its Pacific coast. The strongest tremor was a magnitude 5.0 event southwest of Mapastepec in Chiapas, accompanied by several magnitude 4.7‑4.0 shocks near Ciudad Hidalgo, Pijijiapan and other locations. The quakes originated in the Cocos‑North American subduction zone at shallow depths. As with earlier events, no material damage, injuries, or tsunami alerts were reported.
