Italian regional funding programmes

Overview

Italian regions continue to expand targeted financial support for local development, focusing on youth, agriculture, and small enterprises.

In August 2026, the ResilienCE project, coordinated by Informest and co-financed by Interreg Central Europe, opened a call for social-economy organisations in Friuli-Venezia Giulia’s Carnia area. Up to five entities may receive a three-year package including mentoring, training, and a peer-learning exchange in Budapest. Applications close 31 August 2026.

Agricultural support remains a priority. Abruzzo’s SRG09 call allocates €1,027,914 for innovative agri-food and forestry projects, with applications open until 30 April 2027. In Puglia, a €60 million call under the 2023-2027 Rural Development Complement has been launched to support ecological transition and local supply chains. While the Terra Viva Cisl Puglia union welcomed the investment to combat production costs and climate change, its president, Cosimo D’Elia, emphasized that “reducing administrative complexity is essential” for small and medium-sized enterprises to access funds.

Liguria has bolstered its agricultural innovation efforts by adding €1 million to the SRG01 call, bringing the total to over €3.16 million to support 24 projects involving research and smart technologies. Additionally, the region has earmarked approximately €800,000 to assist small businesses in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 residents through the FilseBonus and a Genoa Chamber of Commerce scheme.

Social and youth-oriented initiatives continue to grow. In Abruzzo, €660,000 has been allocated for Third Sector projects aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Other regional developments include Puglia’s €800,000 allocation for sports event grants and €25 million for water quality interventions in Brindisi, and Piemonte’s €1.646 million budget for the “L’anello forte” anti-trafficking plan.
