There are also reports of many early-season specimens being infested with larvae.

The expansion of the American bolete (Boletus projectellus) remains a persistent concern for naturalists. Previously noted in Podlaskie, Suwałki, Mazovia, Silesia, and the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, the species—also referred to as the slender American porcini—is increasingly appearing in Polish forests, typically found in dry areas near recently felled trees.
